This lot is an exquisite anaerobic natural lot which boast flavours of pink grapefruits, apricots and lingering white tea. Fruit-forward complexity and sweetness, with a syrupy, sticky mouthfeel that coats the palate.
Perched along a ridge at 2,250 MASL in Bombe, Nguisse Nare’s 10-hectare farm, “Setame,” is planted with the 74158 variety and intercropped with taro and sweet potato. Nguisse acquired the farm four years ago and has since maintained a strong focus on quality, carefully floating the cherries before drying them slowly on raised beds for up to 20 days.
Together with his two other farms, one in Kokose and another in Tiburo. Nguisse produces both natural and anaerobic coffees using cherries from his own farms as well as cherries sourced from around 60 neighboring farmers.
At Setame, farm manager Thomas Tosha works closely with Demisse Turuma, the Industry Manager (the team’s resident post-harvest processing specialist) to help craft these exceptional coffees.
